Somatic Therapy in Asheville, NC

Stumbling into language that comes directly from embodiment encourages change from old ways of speaking.

— Janet Adler

Your body gives you direct access to knowing.

If you want access to deeper wisdom and clarity as well as more options for how to move in the world, Somatic Therapy may be a path that helps you get there.

In Somatic Therapy, you access your body’s intelligence to help you process the content of your life. Most of us process life through the mind. The mind is helpful but is not meant to act alone. Many of us have the experience of turning over in our minds an event or a feeling or a question again and again without ever finding a satisfying resolution. We can’t quite seem to think our way out of the problem. This is because the mind relies on information from the body — from feel, touch, sound, sight, taste and smell. Somatic therapy is a space to listen to the information your body has for you. I find that when clients bring an inquiry or a situation to the body and get to know the how the body experiences this content, insight arises in unexpected ways. I will act as your guide to the terrain of your body, teaching you to attune and hear the information your body has for you.

People who work with me want a more embodied experience of therapy to help unstick patterns that are no longer serving them. I offer both tender and sturdy support for your unfolding process of meeting your whole Self honestly and whole-heartedly.

I practice Transformative Touch Somatic Therapy here in Asheville, NC. What makes this form of Somatic Therapy unique is its blending of gentle touch with dialogue. Touch helps the body feel safe enough to feel and know itself.  Supportive touch helps you access and dialogue with your body and the information it has for you.

I offer sessions in Somatic Therapy Sessions as well as Classes, both in-person in Asheville, NC and virtually.
