Dance Therapeutics

Rooted in principles from hatha yoga, somatics and contemporary dance, class offers movement that increases movement capacity, attends to the body’s wisdom and encourages joy and creativitiy.

The goal is to develop your relationship with your expressive, dynamic body.

Class draws from the wisdom of various practices including Hatha Yoga, Barteneiff Fundamental Movement Patterns, Contact Improvisation, Transformative Touch Somatic Therapy, Feldenkrais Method, Klein Technique and Body-Mind Centering, Contemporary Dance and Creative Movement. Class is gentle, inquisitive, constructive and fun! It is intended for all bodies.

Class begins with centering and proceeds into center and across the floor exercises from yoga, somatics and dance. Class culminates with a short dance/movement phrase or movement improvisation.
